Comment:
A visual inspection when entering the house, there is signs of damp in the grout of the floor tiles in the back hall, underneath the kitchen sink and there is also signs of damp up the walls a few inches on every wall adjacent to the hall at the rear of the house as in the pictures below.
We started the survey into the roof space to check the storage tanks and central heating tanks to see whether there were signs of the tanks filling up. No signs of the tanks filling up so ruling out the domestic water and central heating.
I then started an acoustic survey downstairs. The acoustic survey picked up a leak on the mains under the floor. Further analysis picked up 2 leaks under the tiled floor in the kitchen, one just at the kitchen sink and another at the doorway of the kitchen into the hall at the rear of the house as in the picture.
Conclusion:
An acoustic survey has come to the conclusion that the is leaks in 2 places under the floor in kitchen and hall on the mains pipe and a recommendation of renewing this pipe should be made to prevent further incidents in the future.
